Christmas Cookie Baking! We spent today baking and decorating Christmas cookies for Santa and got a healthy dose of sensory input while we did it. I love baking for sensory input because it offers tons of multi-sensory experiences naturally in the process: the tastes, smells, and textures add a variety of input during prep, baking, and eating; while the mixing, scooping, pouring, rolling, and kneading offer tons of deep pressure input into the hands and body improving body awareness and improving strength and endurance too. Getting kids into the kitchen is such a fun way to work on so many skills and improve sensory processing too.
